Complex things
Biology is the study of complicated things that give the appearance of having been designed for a purpose. Physics is the study of simple things that do not tempt us to invoke design. -- Richard Dawkins (I like both of them, and chemistry in the middle)
Hi! My name is Mia, I'm 16 and I'm starting IBDP in August. (Mia's actually my cat's name, but I'll borrow it because I don't like using my real name online. Here's a picture of her:
Anyways, it’s not a cat blog. The purpose of this site is:
- To post biology-related observations I make, and since they often inspire interesting questions, I’ll post the process and results of my rabbit-hole research here as well. Be warned, though — the process of reading textbooks and papers usually lead to more questions, many of them beyond my capabilities to answer. However, I hope my questions (and hopefully, answers!) make you a little bit more curious about the natural world around you.
- To store thoughts and insights I make when teaching myself various subjects, and help me remember them. Sort of like a cyber teddy to talk to about maths and science.
- To archive essays and stories about my fictional country "Herdland".
